Manipur Legislative Assembly to get Solar Power

Thokchom Lokeshwar, Manipur’s Legislative Assembly Speaker has inspected the Assembly complex to install a 500 KW solar power plant within the premises.

The installed solar plant will cater to the power requirements of Manipur Legislative Assembly, especially at the time when there is power outage due to extreme weather conditions.

Accompany Mr. Lokeshwar, Additional Chief Secretary (Forest and Environment) Sambhu Singh, Chief Secretary O Nabakishore, PCCF PN Prasad, MANIREDA Director L Manglem also backed the decision of the honourable speaker.

Moreover, the State Government has a plan to put in place a solar rooftop project which will be producing 5 to 10 MW of solar power in the State.
