Green Stocks June 30: Most Stocks End Month With A Flourish

As Q1 drew to a close today, most of the green stocks trended up, with Waaree Energies leading the charge on the back of its 540 MW order win announced after market hours on Friday last. The order win, in the US market, was seen as further proof that the company is well hedged from the impact of the Big Beautiful Bill making it way through US lawmakers for passage soon possibly.

It was a good day for Adani Green as well, as it announced crossing the 15 GW mark in operational portfolio size. KPI Green was back to green ways, as it rose over 3% as well with high expectations from its Q1 numbers.

Somewhat disappointed would be investors in NTPC Green , which along with parent firm NTPC Ltd seems to be paying the price for a relatively mild summer. Both the firms did announce commissioning of some key projects, with NTPC Green's new commissionings particularly important from the perspective of the ISTS exemptions we have written about earlier. In fact, one suspects the stock is being suppressed for not commissioning enough projects fast enough before June 30, something that has been an issue for a while now.

In fact, as final June numbers come in, we look forward to reporting on a robust addition to India's renewable capacity , as multiple developers rushed to close projects before today to get the full 100% ISTS exemption.

On the other hand, with Q1 behind us, all eyes will be on the results s they start to flow post the third week of July, and relative laggards like Tata Power, JSW Energy etc will have a chance to show they remain strong long term bets for all investors.
