Sun Mobility Partners With Zyngo, Aiming 500 EVs by 2021 End

Bengaluru-based EV battery Swapping solutions provider Sun Mobility has announced that it has partnered with a pollution-free logistics provider Zyngo to facilitate Zyngo’s E-Loaders/E-Carriers with its EV battery swapping options.

Sun Mobility will provide its services available at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) stations, to reinforce its last-mile delivery services. Both the companies announced their fortune partnership and operations in Gurugram, at an event in the presence of the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar.

120 vehicles have already been deployed across Gurugram, Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad under the partnership, and both companies have committed to expanding up to 500 vehicles by the end of 2021.

Speaking on the partnership, the Chairman & Co-Founder of Sun Mobility, Chetan Maini said, “The e-commerce boom in the last 9 to 12 months has caused a surge in the last mile delivery segment. Players such as Amazon, Flipkart, and BigBasket have expressed strong commitment to shift their delivery fleet to electric in the near future,”

He further explained the motive of the partnership and said that the company’s partnership with Zyngo will allow it to accelerate clean last-mile delivery operations, using vehicles powered by open architecture energy platforms.

SUN Mobility has collaborated with vehicle manufacturers, battery cell technology providers, fleet operators/aggregators, oil marketing companies, and cities across the ecosystem to enable quicker adoption of its solution, thereby accelerating mass EV transition. Also last year in December, the company announced establishing 100 battery swapping stations for EVs in Bengaluru by the end of 2021. The announcement was made at the launch event of the firm’s first battery swap points/stations in the city.

Whereas Zyngo provides e-deliveries and has been the delivery partner of various e-commerce FMCGs, retail, and pharma organizations like Amazon, Big Basket, and Porter, as it claims.

Zyngo Founder and CEO Prateek Rao commented on the partnership, “Our partnership with SUN Mobility will help provide a complete swapping ecosystem that will allow a pollution-free, seamless delivery service to our end customers.”

“Our aim is to expand to become one of the leading EV logistics service providers in the last mile sector,” Rao declared.
