The project adds 200 MW / 400 MWh of energy storage capacity to the grid and stands as Arevon’s fifth operational battery storage asset in the state. The Peregrine project, developed, owned, and operated entirely by Arevon, represents an investment of USD 300 million. It is equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, which are known for their thermal stability and safety. At full capacity, the system can supply electricity to up to 200,000 homes for two hours daily, particularly during periods of peak demand. Kevin Smith, Chief Executive Officer at Arevon, highlighted the importance of collaborative development and local support. “The successful completion of Peregrine is a testament to the close coordination between project partners and the surrounding community. This initiative aligns with California’s broader goals for clean energy and grid resilience,” he said.
