The 500,000-square-foot plant, located at Horizon Industrial Park near Shoolagiri along the Bangalore–Chennai highway, will support the company’s IT Business division. The facility will focus on the production of Battery Management Systems (BMS), including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, Power Distribution Units (PDU), and cooling solutions. The development will be executed in two phases in collaboration with Horizon Industrial Parks, a logistics infrastructure platform backed by Blackstone Real Estate funds. The first phase will deliver a dust-free facility with expanded power capacity, advanced fire systems, and workspace for around 1,500 employees. A second phase, tailored to Schneider Electric’s operational needs, is expected to be completed within seven months. “This collaboration with Horizon marks another step in our journey toward an Atmanirbhar Bharat,” said Deepak Sharma, Zone President, Greater India, and MD & CEO, Schneider Electric India. “It reinforces our commitment to sustainable manufacturing and operational excellence.” The upcoming facility will incorporate multiple eco-friendly features, including IGBC ‘Platinum’ pre-certification, rooftop solar panels, glass wool insulation, skylights, smart light sensors, and electric vehicle charging stations.
