President Murmu Unveils EV Yatra Portal App On Energy Conservation Day

An EV yatra portal and a mobile application, which will enable in-vehicle navigation to the closest public EV charger, are set to go live soon, according to a release from the office of President of India, Draupadi Murmu. At a celebration for National Energy Conservation Day, the President will also present awards to the recipients of the National Energy Conservation Awards and the National Energy Efficiency Innovation Awards, according to a release from the Power Ministry.

To encourage e-mobility across the nation, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has created a website, a mobile application, and a website that allows in-vehicle navigation to the closest public EV charger.

Additionally, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has created a web portal that enables operators of charging stations (CPOs) to safely enter their charging information into the National Online Database.

Every year on December 14, the country celebrates Energy Conservation Day 2022 to highlight its accomplishments in energy efficiency and conservation.

It further stated that Alok Kumar, Secretary, of the Ministry of Power, and R. K. Singh, Union Minister of Power, New & Renewable Energy, as well as Krishan Pal, Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, will be in attendance.

Recently, the producers of electric vehicles requested the reinstatement of a subsidy intended to encourage the sale of vehicles. The industry will be “choked to death” by the unilateral decision to discontinue subsidy, according to the corporations. The plea comes even as FAME 2 subsidies made an explicit push to target public transportation and EV infrastructure, and even state-level subsidies have been reduced to the first few hundred or thousand private vehicles in most cases.
