Adani Green Energy Subsidiary Commissions 150 MW Solar Project in Jaisalmer Kiwa PVEL’s Scorecard: Adani Solar Maintains Top Performer Position

Adani Solar Energy Jaisalmer Two Private Limited, a wholly-owned stepdown subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has progressively completed the commissioning of the entire 150 MW solar power project at Bikaner, Rajasthan as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) for sale of power to third parties or on power exchanges.

The firm has a series of large-size projects in Rajasthan and its interest has only been growing in the region. Earlier in the year, Adani Green Energy Limited had even announced the acquisition of a 50% stake in Essel Saurya Urja Company of Rajasthan Limited by way of its own wholly-owned subsidiary Adani Renewable Energy Holding Two Limited.

With the successful commissioning of the said plant, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 8,404 MW. This places AGEL’s total renewable portfolio well on track to reach its vision of 45 GW capacity by 2030.

In an unrelated but significant announcement, French multi-energy firm, TotalEnergies, said it will make an investment to the tune of $300 million in a 50-50 joint venture with Adani Green Energy.

Rajasthan also notified its Renewable Energy Policy 2023 a few days back. The Policy looks at giving a push to renewable energy parks with a premium on development of solar, hydro, Pumped Storage Plants (PSPs), Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Some measures announced are also said to give an impetus to C&I and utility projects in the state, which has been leading in terms of capacity additions.
