TVS Motors Launches iQube, its Electric Scooter in Delhi

Indian multinational motorcycle company, TVS Motors has yesterday launched its iQube electric scooter in Delhi, with an on-road price of Rs.1,15,000. After Delhi government’s ‘Switch Delhi’ campaign, the price may fall to 1,08,012.

The TVS iQube comes with 3 Li-ion battery packs, supported with dedicated BMS and a 3 years warranty. It charges for two days for an average ride in just four hours and a full charge in five hours. Also, it comes with a revolutionary charging solution i.e. the SmartXHome, that charges the e-scooter overnight with RFID enabled, BlueTooth connected secure home charging solution.

This e-scooter is equipped with a silent hub-mounted 4.4 kW electric motor that can give an acceleration of 0-40 in just 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 78 Km/h.

TVS Motors provide a smart connect feature with the next-gen TVS SmartXonnect platform and an advanced TFT cluster and a TVS iQube app on apple and android play Store. The app gives multiple features such as geo-fencing, remote battery charge status, navigation assist, last park location, and incoming call alerts/SMS alerts, among others.

Customers can book their iQube e-scooter with a booking amount of Rs. 5,000.

Speaking on their creation, the Director & CEO of TVS Motor Company, K N Radhakrishnan stated, “TVS iQube Electric is a blend of an advanced electric drivetrain and the next-gen TVS SmartXonnect platform. After its success in Bengaluru, we are thrilled to bring our iQube to Delhi, and are confident to scale great heights.”

Currently, at seven locations in Delhi, the charging units have been installed so far. Moreover, the company is developing an expansive public charging ecosystem in the city, by expanding network strength with additional dealer partners.

Although the iQube e-scooter was launched for the first time in Bengaluru, earlier in January 2020. TVS Motor Company forayed into an electric mobility (e-mobility) space with the launch of its ‘TVS iQube Electric’ scooter in Bengaluru.
