Three EV Infra Players & Mahindra Collaborate on Charging Solutions

Mahindra & Mahindra announced that it has partnered with Jio-bp, Statiq, and Charge+Zone (Three EV Infrastructure Players) to provide charging options for its next lineup of passenger electric vehicles.

The Mumbai-based automaker said in a statement that thanks to these agreements, Mahindra EV users would have seamless access to a reliable fast-charging infrastructure and e-mobility solutions covering discovery, availability, navigation, and transactions.

Veejay Nakra, President of Mahindra & Mahindra’s Automotive Division, said in a statement, “We are delighted to have joined hands with all our partners (Three EV Infrastructure Players) for our upcoming range of electric vehicles in India. We look forward to bringing sustainable, profitable, and efficient EV solutions to accelerate the mass adoption of battery-electric vehicles in India.”

“The company views these agreements as a chance to quickly provide consumers with reliable EV infrastructure solutions, and it will also help India get closer to its net-zero ambitions”, he added.

A robust, dependable EV charging network is considered essential for success in the 4 wheeler segment, where Tata Motors has stolen a march with its network through Tata Power.

Significant announcements from the firms

Recently, Mahindra debuted the XUV400, an all-electric SUV. The company also unveiled several new electric vehicles earlier this year at a UK event, which it intends to introduce in India over the following several years.

Earlier, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), and the joint venture firm of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and bp- Jio-bp strengthened their current partnership to build out reliable charging infrastructure for Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUV launches. Mahindra’s moves in this regard were keenly watched as rival and current EV market leader in four-wheelers, Tata Motors has the backing of group firm Tata Power in its charging push, including setting up points at customer locations.

Additionally, Tech-first start-up Statiq, a leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network, entered into a partnership with multi-modal free-floating micro-mobility platform Hala Mobility.

Recently, Charge Zone, a Gujarat-based provider of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, unveiled its ambitions to use renewable energy to power its high-speed charging network for electric buses and commercial cars across India.
