Okaya Bags REIL Contract for 4244 EV Charging Stations Across India

Okaya Power has bagged a contract from REIL for the commissioning of over 4244 multi-standard EV charging stations across India.

Okaya Power, a leading manufacturer and supplier of EV charging stations in the country, has announced that it has bagged a contract from Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL), for the supply, installation and commissioning of over 4244 multi-standard EV charging stations with CCS, CHAdeMO, Type-2 & Bharat specification protocol across the country.

The contract is funded by the Department of Heavy Industries (DHI), Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.

This is the second such contract won by Okaya from REIL in the time span of over a year. Last year REIL had given a contract to Okaya for supply, installation, and commissioning of over 200 multi-standard EV chargers in all metro cities and major highways, starting with Delhi-Jaipur-Agra, and Mumbai-Pune.

Anshul Gupta, Director, Okaya Power said, “we are delighted to be awarded the DHI-funded contract for supply, installation and commissioning of 4244 multi-standard EV charging stations with CCS, CHAdeMO & Bharat specification protocol from the prestigious Mini Ratna PSU, Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Ltd. Okaya is continuously engaged in enhancing the EV charging infrastructure in the country and has already established its credentials as a trusted partner with several reputed organizations. This contract from REIL reaffirms our commitment and efforts in building up the EV ecosystem in the country.”

In November, the firm had bagged a major World Bank-funded contract from Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) for the supply, installation and commissioning of 1020 multi-standard EV charging stations with CCS, CHAdeMO and Bharat specification protocol across India.

In August, the firm had announced that it had formed a strategic partnership with BluSmart Electric Mobility, one of India’s largest fleet operators of electric four-wheeler vehicles with the aim to provide a well-laid out electric vehicle (EV) charging stations infrastructure for their fleet operations.
