EV Maker Wardwizard Operationalises Lithium-ion Battery Unit in Vadodara

Electric vehicle manufacturer Wardwizard Innovations and Mobility has announced that it has begun the operations of its lithium-ion battery assembly facility at Vadodara in Gujarat. The assembly line has been in-built by the company at its EV ancillary cluster and has an annual production capacity of 1 GWh.

Wardwizard had announced about the company’s plan to establish a Lithium-ion cells manufacturing factory in the state of Gujarat in May of last year. This year, says Wardwizard, it has achieved the target of rolling out the first batch of lithium-ion battery packs assembled from the newly established facility.

Wardwizard said that the company aims at strengthening the battery infrastructure in India. For this, Wardwizard has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Sunkonnect which is a renewable energy management consulting firm based out of Singapore.

Wardwizard also informed that the lithium-ion battery facility comes under the phase-1 development of the company’s electric vehicle ancillary cluster in Vadodara.

With the comping up of the lithium-ion assembly facility, Wardwizard also mentioned that it will further step-up the R&D operations in the cluster. It also plans to expand the electronic components’ production in the Vadodara cluster of the firm.

Yatin Gupte, Chairman and Managing Director of Wardwizard Innovations Mobility Ltd, said that the commencement of the lithium-ion battery unit will help in making the electric vehicles more affordable than before.

The Wardwizard CMD said, “As we are observing rising demand for EVs, quality and safety are of utmost priority, and with our in-house battery assembly line, Wardwizard is a step closer to contributing to the Evolution.”

He further added, “We are actively working on scaling the capacity of our battery assembly and starting the manufacturing of other components, including chassis, motors, and steel parts, as well as lithium-ion cells, in the near future.”

The EV sector is expanding in the country with quite a speed. The FADA of last year shows that there is a three-fold jump in the electric vehicles sales – especially the four wheeled EV segment and hence, calls for faster development in the battery segment to help adept with future demand.
