Envision Solar, a leading producer of unique and sustainable infrastructure products for electric vehicle charging, energy security and outdoor media, has announced that the City of Atlanta has issued a purchase order for the Company’s patented EV ARC product.

Atlanta will use the EV ARC to charge its growing fleet of electric vehicles (EVs). The EV ARC can be deployed in minutes without difficult, expensive and disruptive trenching and construction. In addition, EV ARC will continue to charge EVs and supply emergency power to first responders during grid interruptions.

“Atlanta is a booming market for EVs and has aggressively supported EV charging infrastructure,” said Desmond Wheatley, Envision Solar’s CEO. “This will be our first deployment for the city and will add to our growing list of locations where people are driving on sunshine using our products. We look forward to deploying many more EV ARCs in Georgia.”

Invented and manufactured in California, the patented EV ARC and EV ARC HP products fit inside single parking spaces without reducing available parking. The product generates enough clean solar electricity to power up to 225 miles of EV driving in a day. The EV ARC HP DC fast charging systems provide up to 1,100 miles per day.

The system’s solar electrical generation is enhanced by EnvisionTrak which causes the solar array to follow the sun, generating up to 25 percent more electricity than a fixed array. The energy is stored in the EV ARC product’s on-board energy storage for charging day or night and to provide EV charging and emergency power during grid failure.

The product is a permanent solution that provides Level I, Level II and DC Fast Charging but because it requires no trenching, foundations or installation work of any kind, it is deployed in minutes and can be moved to a new location with ease.
