Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd has announced that it has plans to install 8,500 chargers for electric vehicles (EVs) across apartment societies in Mumbai, reported news agency PTI. The Adani group company said it has launched what it calls the “share charge” initiative under which multiple EV owners can charge their vehicles, as was reported by PTI quoting Adani Electricity.
Further, Adani Electricity specified that it has plans to install 8,500 EV chargers across 4,000 societies in financial capital where people can also track the charging status through applications.

Before the announcement for Mumbai socities, last month, Servotech, a tech-enabled EV Charging solutions provider signed a contract with Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Ltd. (ATEL) a subsidiary of Adani Total Gas Limited for setting up Alternating Current (AC) EV chargers. Servotech Power Systems will be responsible for manufacturing, supplying, and Installing AC EV Chargers at different Airports and other said locations, playing a key role in driving widespread EV charging solutions, vital for advancing decarbonized mobility. The project will be executed in phases and the supply of the first phase of EV chargers has already started.

Last year in December, Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer inaugurated an ultra-fast charging station in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. Conceptualized and developed in collaboration with ChargeZone, the ultra-fast charger boasts a total capacity of 450kW, to deliver 360kW of power to an electric vehicle and is enabled by a 500 amps liquid-cooled gun to ensure high performance and efficiency. The ultra-fast charging ‘e-tron hub’ is completely powered by green energy and has a solar roof that supports the functioning of peripheral electrical requirements including lighting the ‘e-tron hub’.
