RenewSys Elevates Nandkumar Pai as CEO of PV Modules & Cells Biz

RenewSys, which is country’s first integrated manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and its key components, encapsulants, backsheets and solar PV cells, on Monday said that it has appointed Nandkumar Pai as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its PV modules & cells division.

As a company with a swiftly expanding global footprint, it will continue to be led by Avinash Hiranandani who is the Global CEO & Managing Director.

Now, Hiranandani aimed to sharpen his focus on strengthening the international business.

On the significant development, the company said that this is in keeping with a strategy to make innovation led, quality PV products available to the growing global markets.

“The adoption of Solar PV is growing at an unprecedented rate, giving rise to new opportunities and challenges. RenewSys is poised to support this growth trajectory and to better serve our expanding customer base in India and beyond with this move,” said Avinash Hiranandani.

In his new role, Pai will bring with himself renewed focus and energy to the PV cells and modules division of the company. However, this announcement will be effective from April 1, 2020. Till date, Pai has been leading Sales and Marketing at RenewSys.

Being a power industry veteran he is having nearly 30 years of experience in diverse sectors across oil and gas, engineering, manufacturing and renewables.

On the educational background, he is a Mechanical Engineer and has completed international management development programmes from IMD, Lausanne (Switzerland); Cranfield, UK; Hanken, Helsinki (Finland).

As a hands-on leader, he has worked closely with the sales, marketing, production, and technical teams at RenewSys to lend balance and address the challenges that crop up in a rapidly changing solar industry.

Prior to RenewSys, he worked with Wärtsilä India Pvt. Ltd. and GMMCO, a C.K. Birla company, in varied leadership roles including Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer.
