NTPC Looks for Power Generators for Supply of 1500 MW Solar-Wind Projects

NTPC Ltd. has issued a tender and invited online bids from eligible bidders on Single Stage Two Envelope (that is, envelope-I: technical bid and envelope-II: financial bid) with reverse auction for the selection of hybrid power generators for the supply of 1500 MW power from ISTS connected -solar-wind hybrid power projects anywhere in India (NTPC-Tranche-IV) on Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis.

The last date for bid submission is December 21, 2023. The last date and time for receipt of bids comprising both technical and financial bid is January 3, 2024. The date and time of the opening of technical bids is January 3, 2024.

All bids must be accompanied by Earnest Money Deposit for an amount calculated at the rate of INR 11.60 Lakh per MW.

Solar-wind hybrid projects have begun to gain favour with stakeholders because of several reasons. For instance, the costs involved in hybrid projects are lower when compared against standalone solar or wind projects. At the same time, such projects make more efficient use of land and infrastructure. Hybrid projects also offer almost power round the clock.

GUVNL, SECI and RUMSL recently invited bids for solar-wind hybrid projects of 500 MW, 2000 MW and 750 MW respectively.

NTPC REL has recently issued tenders on wind energy for major capacities of 1200 MW, 900 MW, 1000 MW, 1080 MW among others.
