Gujarat Urja Vikas Nagam Limited (GUVNL) has issued a tender seeking developers for a hybrid solar-wind projects. The state-utility sought to purchase the clean power from this hybrid project through competitive bidding process (followed by reverse e-auction). As per the tender documents of this 500 MW hybrid renewable energy projects (Phase I), GUVNL will also offer an additional greenshoe option of additional 500 MW for interested hybrid renewable project developers.

The last date for online submission for submission of GUVNL’s 500MW hybrid project is November 28, 2023 at 5:00 PM. For offline submission, it is November 30, 2023.

Technical bid opens on December 1, 2023. Financial bid opens on December 6, 2023.

The cost of the RFS document is INR 25,000/- plus 18% GST. The Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) must be INR 928000 x rated cumulative installed capacity of solar component (MW) + INR 12,64,000 x rated cumulative installed capacity of wind component (MW)] to be submitted in the form of Bank Guarantee.

Recently, GUVNL had issued another RFS for 500 MW of solar energy with 500 MW greenshoe option.

In September, the state notified the Renewable Energy Policy- 2023 that encourages the setting up of projects based on wind-solar hybrid renewable energy projects.

Earlier, this year on August, GUVNL had issued a tender for a 500 MW of grid-connected solar projects which was slated to be developed in part of the country. That tender too offered an additional Greenshoe option for 500 MW. After the tender, ReNew Solar Power emerged as a the winner of the tender and committed to sell its solar power to the Gujarat utility at the rate of Rs 2.71 per unit.

Prior to this, GUVNL issued  tender for procuring renewable power through a 600 MW of renewable project from the Khavda solar park in the state. The bid was a competitive tender. As per the details, GUVNL, till March 31, 2023 had a total capacity of 19 GW of renewable power.

GUVNL, meanwhile is known in the state for boosting renewable energy, easing the procedure for rooftop solar installations. The state utility also had spread its projects in several parts of the state which included its projects at Dholera Solar Park, Harshad Solar Project, Raghanesda Solar Park and other regions.
