Going ahead with the activity to introduce rooftop network associated solar panels in schools and universities over the city, a 10 KW roof solar panel has been initiated at Basanti Devi College. The solar panels produce around 40 units for every day and would assist the school experts with having a Rs 1.5 lakh decrease in power bills.

Solar power master S.P. Gon Chaudhuri, under whose direction the school specialists have set up the rooftop solar panels said this has been a progressing procedure to introduce rooftop top sun based boards in a few schools and universities over the city.

Aside from the 10 KW rooftop solar panel that has been inaugurated, the university government might quickly get another 5KW sun panel this is being developed by means of the West Bengal Energy Development Corporation.
Gon Chaudhuri stated that apart from saving power and reducing strength bills, the use of each 10KW solar panel can lessen about 1,500 kg CO2 emission. “As per the national programme, educational institutions across the country are supposed to generate energy by their own by the year 2022,” he added.
