Global Operations of Solar Leader JinkoSolar Powered 50% By Renewables

Solar product manufacturers are toiling to decarbonise their own very operations worldwide to show a true ‘clean energy’ face and ensure green growth of the world economy. Global solar conglomerate JinkoSolar Holding Co. is the latest to join the bandwagon following the announcement that renewable energy is providing more than 51 per cent of the power used by its facilities around the world. JinkoSolar also said that its next objective is to reach 60 per cent by the end of 2023.

JinkoSolar said that the current status is about the 12 factories it has set up in China, Malaysia, Vietnam and the USA. These facilities are powered by a mix of hydropower, solar energy and wind energy. The renewable energy is either purchased by JinkoSolar or have been developed by the company itself.

It is proof of the business case that well-managed companies can reduce the greenhouse gases that are exacerbating the climate crisis while simultaneously reducing their energy costs. Now that renewable energy has become more mainstream and the related costs far lower, ecological responsibility can be good business.”

As per the reports, JinkoSolar has been financing and developing new renewable energy sources near its factories for the past three years. the company has installed onsite rooftop that directly contributes to the progress of clean energy consumption in the facilities.

JinkoSolar says that powering its operations through green energy, it has also convinced its supply chain partners to sign a pledge for the deployment of 100 per cent renewable energy use for the part of their businesses that are related with JinkoSolar products.

In June, JinkoSolar announced that its Malaysia factory had become its first overseas “RE100 factory” fully powered by renewables that supports roughly 7GW vertically integrated solar cell-module capacity.
