Central Electronics Invites Bids For 15 Lakh Multi-Crystalline Solar Cells

Central Electronics Ltd (CEL) has floated a tender for the supply of 15 Lakh Multi-Crystalline solar cells. According to the tender, the output wattage of each PV cell should be 4.63Wp per cell or higher & each cell also has five busbars in length. Each cell should be 156.75 x 156.75 mm +/-0.25 mm or 157 x 157 mm +/-0.25 mm in dimensions & the thickness of each solar cell should be 200 ± 20 microns.

The last date to submit the bid is August 16, 2022. Bids will be opened on the same day.

There is no Earnest Money Deposited for the awarded bidder. As per the CEL tender, the shipping of solar PV cells is the vendor’s responsibility. The cells must not have any flaws such as edge chipping, discontinuity of metal printing lines, color discrepancies, cracks, holes, cuts, smudges, patches, or cuts. The silicon nitride coating on the cells should be uniform, colorless, and homogeneous. The cells should be packed in 100 cell batches or according to the vendors’ standard sizes.

Only original manufacturers or their duly authorized representatives may participate in the tender with a valid authorization from the original manufacturers. The bidder shall attest that the IEC 61215/IS 14286, IEC 61730, and IEC 62804 requirements are met by the modules produced utilizing the supplier’s cells. 

A minimum annual cell manufacturing capacity of 30 MW is required for the solar cell manufacturer to acquire this 15 Lakh Multi-Crystalline solar cells tender. According to CEL, all defective cells will be replaced without charge if the percentage of defective cells is less than 3% of the total number of cells delivered. If the percentage of defective cells is greater than 3%, the entire batch will be rejected. 200 solar cell samples from the bidders must be sent to CEL for testing and evaluation before the bid opening date. The CEL will examine the sample cells.
