Tata Power, Rustomjee Group collaborate for EV charging infrastructure in Mumbai

Tata Power has announced that it has tied up with Rustomjee Group, a real estate developer, to install end-to-end electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions in all residential and commercial projects in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

Tata Power will set up dedicated EV charging facilities for the residents of Rustomjee Group properties in Mumbai MMR, enabling them to access the facilities uninterrupted.

The joint statement of the companies said, “EV owners will have the access to a 24×7 charging facility along with maintenance support. Customers can connect through the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile application for all services including remote vehicle charging monitoring and e-payments.”

Sandeep Bangia, head – EV at Tata Power, said, “We are happy to partner with Rustomjee Group and feel our collaboration will hasten the transition to EV adoption in Mumbai. It’s a step towards decarbonizing the transportation sector and making EVs more mainstream.”

As of now, Rustomjee Group has completed projects worth 20 million square feet, while those worth 9.2 million square feet are currently going on and 16.4 million square feet of projects have been planned. On the other hand, Tata Power has installed more than 100 EV charging facilities in Mumbai alone through its EZ Charge and over 1,300 charging facilities across India.

Recently, Tata Power partnered with Apollo Tyres, HPCL, TVS Motors, amã Stays & Trails and others to set up and improve EV charging infrastructure in the country. The power company says that it provides a digital platform to facilitate easy and smooth customer experience.
