HOP Electric Mobility Starts Setting Up 2nd Unit in Jaipur

Jaipur-based two-wheeler maker HOP Electric Mobility is planning to expand its presence in multiple states, including Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. The company is setting up its second manufacturing facility in Jaipur to add capacity of 1.5 lacs units per year by February 2022.

The company already has a manufacturing unit in Jaipur with a production capacity of 50,000 number of vehicles per year. Thus far, it has offered two e-scooters — HOP LEO and HOP LYF — in the Indian e-mobility market.

The brand has recently signed agreements with 30 dealers across India and is expected to be operational by September 2021 and plans for 70 more partnerships by the end of December 2021, said the company’s official statement.

CEO and founder of HOP Electric Mobility, Ketan Mehta, said, “It has been our mission and vision to promote sustainable mobility to assist the changing lifestyles, habits and needs of the new-age generations. Not only in metropolitan cities, but almost everywhere people are becoming conscious about their choices and the effect they have on the environment. We at HOP, are thrilled and pleased to become an integral part of this amazing growth journey of the society.”

He further added, “Our e-scooters HOP Leo and HOP Lyf are already garnering great traction and we are soon planning to launch e-motorcycle HOP OXO. Our aim is to close 100 dealerships by the end of December 2021. These e-vehicles are integrated with distinctive features to make riding fun and safe. We are delighted to venture into the futuristic world and new markets in India. It will definitely bring us one step closer to our ultimate goal to equip every consumer with energy efficient transportation facilities.”

HOP states that its electric vehicles come with noteworthy features: parking assistance, side stand sensors, USB charging points, three ride modes with reverse mode, LED console, dual disc brakes, remote key, anti-theft alarm and wheel lock, and additional accessories like internet and GPS connectivity.

The company is also planning to come up with an electric vehicle segment called the Hop Energy Network, which will have built-in battery swapping cum charging stations where the customer will be able to replace their discharged battery with a fully charged battery in just 30 seconds. In January 2021, HOP’s pilot network with 5 swapping stations and 50 batteries started operation in Jaipur.
