Indian energy firm Exicom recently unveiled Harmony Direct 2.0, a next-generation DC (direct current) fast charger powered by Harmony OS, described by the company as the country’s first indigenously developed charger operating system.

The launch was made at a company-hosted industry event in Gurugram, where executives said the new charger aims to improve infrastructure reliability, reduce operational costs and enhance the user experience for both fleet operators and individual EV users.

AI-Enabled Diagnostics

“At the core of Harmony Direct 2.0 is Harmony OS, designed in India to automate interactions from the charger to the car to the cloud,” Exicom said in a statement. The system includes AI-enabled diagnostics and remote management tools, which the company claims will reduce downtime and support large-scale deployment.

“With Harmony Direct 2.0, we’ve built a product that redefines charging infrastructure in terms of reliability, economics and usability,” said Anant Nahata, Managing Director and CEO of Exicom.

Newly Launched EV Chargers

The charger introduces several new features, including dynamic load sharing, multi-stack charging logic, and a power distribution technology dubbed Harmony Net, which enables real-time power sharing between multiple chargers.

“This will help charge point and fleet operators scale operations with confidence,” said Anshuman Divyanshu, CEO of Exicom’s EVSE business.

The product also features a user interface modeled after smartphones and ergonomic hardware to improve ease of use.

Harmony Direct 2.0

Exicom said it is positioning Harmony Direct 2.0 as a foundational tool to support India’s transition to electric mobility, with the government aiming for significant EV adoption targets over the next decade.

Founded in India, Exicom supplies both AC and DC chargers and provides critical power solutions to telecom and infrastructure sectors. The company says it has deployed over 150,000 chargers across India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
