Chinese Battery Manufacturer EVE Energy Scores Second Gigawatt Scale US Deal

China based lithium-ion battery manufacturer EVE Energy has signed a deal with American Battery Solutions  for 5GWh of LFP lithium-ion cells a year for ABS’s TeraStor platform.

The master supply agreement (MSA) will see American Battery Solutions (ABS ESS) procure 5GWh of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells from  Eve for its grid-scale energy storage system (ESS) platform.

It will help ABS ESS to deploy its 30GWh of targeted projects over the next three years.

ABS ESS has a 16,000 square meter facility in Ohio where assembly of assembling lithium-ion battery packs for the EV sector is done.

EVE Energy is a fast emerging battery supplier, hoping to soon join Tier 1 suppliers like CATL, LG Chem, Samsung SDI, BYD and Northvolt among global leaders.

The deal with ABS follows a large deal announced by Eve Energy last week, a large multi- gigawatt-hour deal by Powin Energy.

The US-headquartered energy storage system integrator said last week that it has sealed a 10GWh supply agreement with the Chinese manufacturer.

It’s Powin’s second multi-year deal with EVE, following a two-year “gigawatt-scale” contract in 2021.
