Bengaluru’s EV Firm Ather Energy Intends to Open 150 Experience Centers by 2023

Bengaluru’s EV Firm Ather Energy Intends to Open 150 Experience Centers by 2023

In an effort to strengthen its position in Chennai, Ather Energy, Bengaluru-headquartered electric scooters manufacturer, recently announced the opening of a third experience centre. The 450X is available for purchase in Chennai at the recently opened retail site on the Old Mahabalipuram Road, often known as the IT Corridor, for Rs. 1.57 lakh, and the 450 Plus is available for purchase in the location for Rs. 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). 49 retail stores are run by Ather Energy throughout 38 cities. By March 2023, the company aims to expand to 100 locations with 150 experience centers, according to a press announcement.

“Chennai is one of the important markets for Ather in the state. Tamil Nadu has become a center for the manufacture of electric vehicles in India,” maintained to the company’s Chief Business Officer Ravneet S Phokela. 

“The new experience center will enable us to meet this growing demand,” he added. “We are certain that the enhanced Ather 450X will attract more EV aficionados in the city.” The brand-new 150 experience centers have opened up in collaboration with Chennai-based Pillai Auto. “We at Pillai Auto are eager to begin our partnership with Ather. Since Chennai was one of Ather’s first markets, there is a lot of demand for Ather products there,” shared Ganesh Ranjan, Director of Pillai Auto. According to Ather Energy, it has opened a second factory in Hosur and expects to produce four lakh units annually.

Earlier, Ather Energy recently rolled out the new avatar of its flagship scooter Ather 450x with a bigger battery, new tires, and software changes at Rs 155,657 ex-showroom in Bengaluru. Additionally, this year in June Ather Energy and State Bank of India collaborated to provide financing options to interested buyers of electric vehicles. Through this collaboration, Ather was looking to ease the process of purchase of the electric scooter for its purchasers by using the massive reach of the SBI in India to provide wider financing options.
