Solar Rooftop Installations

Pushing for solar rooftops in the state, the West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency has issued a tender for 2MW of grid-connected solar-rooftop projects to be developed.

The tender will also include five (5) years warranty and comprehensive maintenance in residential, institutional, and social sector on turnkey basis.

The deadline for the submission of the bid is December 27, 2018 and the WBREDA will employ vendors to handle the project.

The project will be developed in two categories, first being Type A in the range of 5-10 kW at a benchmark cost of Rs 60 and the second category being Type B in the range of 10-100 kW with a cost of Rs 55.

A central financial assistance of 30% will also be provided from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

Guidelines for the bidding state that for Type A projects the bidding company must have a local maintenance setup in the state since one year prior to bidding.

For Type B projects it is mandated that if the company does not have maintenance setup in West Bengal, they must setup one in two months from the date on which the Letter of Allotment has been issued.

The bar has been set to a maximum of 100 kW for the Type A projects and 300 kW for Type B projects.

According to the notice inviting tender, Type A projects will have a total capacity of 500 kW and Type B projects will have a cumulative capacity of 1,500 kW.

The installation of solar rooftops will have to be completed within 180 days from the date of allotment.
