Water-Gen and Vikram Solar to Showcase Clean, Hygienic Drinking Water Solutions at Smart Cities 2017 Expo

Water-Gen and Vikram Solar will showcase environmental and humanitarian water solutions at Smart Cities Expo in India on May 10-12.

On the heels of the recent $100 million MoU between Water-Gen and Vikram Solar, and as a sign of the deepening cooperation between India and Israel, Water-Gen and Vikram Solar will showcase environmental and humanitarian water solutions at Smart Cities Expo in India on May 10-12.

The technology developed by Water-Gen to create and store drinking water by harvesting condensation from the air, provides a potential solution to the clean and safe drinkable water crisis faced by India. The larger objective of this collaboration is to make available drinking water to the remote locations of the country using its rich natural resources – air and humidity. The cost-effectiveness of the technology is an added bonus that will help make the solution available to the masses.

Combined with Vikram Solar’s technological prowess and expertise in the solar power domain, the attempt is to conceptualize a product most suitable for the Indian market requirements. Incorporating use of solar power into the Water-Gen technology is expected to further enhance the energy efficiency and availability of power for the technology in remote locations, through use of solar panels.

Water-Gen is especially relevant in India, which lacks sufficient, clean drinking water. Executive Chairman for Water-Gen, Maxim Pasik explains, “Water-Gen will make great strides in changing the lives of the citizens of India for the better. Water-Gen products are the solution to one of the world’s most immediate challenges by providing clean, accessible drinking water.” He further added “This month we will demonstrate in New Delhi how Water-Gen units produce clean drinking water. We will be distributing the refreshing drinking water produced by Water-Gen to the citizens of India in this area.”

As a leader in the fast-growing solar sector, Vikram Solar covers the entire spectrum from modules to EPC to O&M and is now foraying into BOS. “I am confident,” said Gyanesh Chaudhary, Managing Director of Vikram Solar, “that we will successfully provide the solution for Water-Gen to provide clean drinking water in the locations in India that lack electricity, especially in the remote, rural areas.”

Pasik continues, “Our collaboration with Vikram Solar will ensure we provide clean drinking water to the people of India in rural areas without electricity in one integrated independent system. We will establish water farms powered by solar energy that will produce millions of liters of clean drinking water daily.”
