Tesla is offering a first glimpse of the Panasonic-made solar panels that would go on top of your existing roof.

Last year Tesla and Panasonic finalized an agreement to start the manufacturing of photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules at the Buffalo, NY factory. Now the company has introduced a sleek solar panel made by Panasonic for existing roof as not everyone can or wants to rip off their roof just to bring renewable energy to their home.

Tesla is offering a first glimpse of the Panasonic-made solar panels that would go on top of your existing roof. Unlike many solar panels available in the market, this would be relatively slick and integrate front skirts and no visible mounting hardware.

Tesla is currently taking requests for custom price quotes. According to Electrek the new Panasonic module will go into production at Gigafactory 2 this summer.

The firm speaking to the publication said that these new panels will be used for all new residential projects going forward.
