Tender for 1.6 MW Rooftop Solar Plants at Govt Buildings in Tamil Nadu

CEL has issued a tender for the deployment of 1.6 MW in the cumulate capacity of rooftop solar plants at various government buildings in Tamil Nadu.

The Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible firms for the deployment of 1.6 MW in the cumulate capacity of rooftop solar plants at various government buildings in Tamil Nadu. The 1.6 MW cumulative capacity of solar projects will b developed as multiple projects with capacities ranging between 10 and 50 kWp.

The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the survey, design, engineerings supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of the grid-connected rooftop solar systems. The selected developers will also be required to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance for the plants for a period of 25 years. The developers will have a period of 90 days to complete the work of installation of the project.

The last date for bid submission is January 4, 2020, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same date. All bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 7.5 lakh along with their bids.

To be eligible for participating in the bidding process the bidders must designed, supplied, tested, installed and commissioned cumulative 500 kWp of solar power plants directly or indirectly for any government department, PSU, etc., in last 3 years which includes two power plants of minimum 50 kWp or higher capacity installed before April 1, 2019.

Furthermore, the bidders must have a cumulative turnover of Rs 4 crore in the last three financial years (FY 16-17, FY 17-18 & FY 18-19).

For the inverter manufacturer (OEM), the bidders should have the experience of supplying a minimum of 50 MW string inverters in India and should have experience of a minimum of 3 years of supply within India.

Recently, the CEL had issued another tender for the commissioning of 44 MW of grid-connected solar power generating systems ranging in capacity from 250 kW to 10 MW at various substations and locations in Maharashtra. The last date for bid submission on this tender is December 30, 2019.
