Suzlon Continues Order-Winning Spree with 300 MW Wind Project for Torrent Power

Suzlon Continues Order-Winning Spree with 300 MW Wind Project for Torrent Power Suzlon Q4 FY23: Positive Net Worth After a Decade at INR 1,099 cr, 80% YoY Slide in Current Net Debt

Renewable energy solutions provider, Suzlon Group, has bagged a fresh order from Torrent Power Limited for its new 3 MW series of wind turbines. The firm will look after the development of a 300 MW wind power project. Suzlon will install 100 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3 MW each. The project, to be set up in Karnataka, is slated for commissioning in 2025.

The firm informs that this is the sixth and the largest order for the new Suzlon 3 MW series in less than a month.

The agreement states that Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply), provide land and execute the project including erection and commissioning. Suzlon will also provide comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning.

As of December 2022, Suzlon Group has a cumulative global installation of over 19.7 GW of wind energy capacity and boasts of 13.8 GW of wind energy assets under service in India. The firm claims that this makes it the largest operations and maintenance company in the Indian renewable energy sector. The Group also has 5.9 GW of installed capacity outside India.

Suzlon is on an order-winning streak. A few days ago, it had announced bagging an order from Serentica for its upcoming 204 MW wind power project at Koppal in Karnataka. The firm has also bagged significant orders from Vibrant Energy, Juniper Green Energy Private Limited, Thermax Group firm First Energy. It had also announced an order win to develop a 50.4 MW wind power project for Sembcorp’s renewables subsidiary Green Infra Wind Energy Limited.
