After a streak of order wins, renewable energy solutions provider Suzlon Group has added another win to its portfolio. Suzlon has bagged a wind project with 25.2 Megawatt (MW) capacity from Sri Kumaraswamy Mineral Exports Pvt. Ltd. (SKMEPL). 

The firm will now be responsible for installing 12 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower to be set up at Hanumanthappa, in Vijayanagara district in Karnataka. The turbines will have a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. The project is expected to be commissioned in 2024. It will provide electricity to 16,000 households while averting the emission of 0.6 lakh tonnes of carbon-dioxide annually. 

Suzlon will look after the supply of equipment and erection and commissioning along with comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning.

Chauhan said that SKMEPL had been a significant customer for Suzlon in the retail sector and was associated since 2007. He also talked about the use of domestic equipment in their projects.

A few days ago, Suzlon Group had bagged an order from Vibrant Energy for 33 wind turbine generators (WTGs). It secured a 3 MW product series to develop a 69.3 MW wind power project for Juniper Green Energy Private Limited earlier. 

Before that, Suzlon had revealed winning a 39 MW wind power project from Thermax Group firm First Energy. It also announced an order win to develop a 50.4 MW wind power project for Sembcorp’s renewables subsidiary Green Infra Wind Energy Limited.
