Spain's Gonvarri Solar Steel to Supply 205.8 MW Trackers for Seville Project

Spanish firm, Gonvarri Solar Steel, will be responsible for the supply of 205.8 MW of its TracSmarT+ 1V trackers for a solar project in Seville, Spain.

The supply will boast 2,924 solar trackers in single-row and dual-row configurations. It will curb  emission of 82,788 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. With the said project, over 118,000 households in Seville will have access to clean energy every year.

The tracker and fixed structure projects of Gonvarri Solar Steel exceed 19 GW worldwide. Of this, 7.6 GW of are in LATAM and USA. In Medellin, Columbia, the firm has supplied over 500 MW of trackers and fixed structures.

Some of its other recent prominent projects include the supply of 27 MW of TracSmarT+ 1V trackers (single- and dual-row) in Alange to IM2 Energia Solar. This includes a total of 516 TracSmart+ 1V trackers.

In the tracker market, the single axis tracker sector claimed the largest revenue chunk of 90% last year. Single axis trackers move from east to west. They are low cost, easy to setup, and little cost of operation. When compared to dual axis trackers, the are more reliable. On the other hand, dual axis trackers a shorter lifespan when pitted against single axis trackers.

The solar tracker market in Latin America and Spain have gained prominence over the years. Some of the leading suppliers here are Arctech, Nextracker, IbVogt, Soltec.
