SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL) has bagged 90 MW capacity for the Omkareshwar floating solar project located in Madhya Pradesh. This is the second win for the said project for SJVN since the firm had also bagged 90 MW of the capacity for it in January 2023. The project has been won at INR 3.79 ($0.046)/kWh.

SGEL won the capacity in phase II of the 300 MW tender for the project in Madhya Pradesh.  The bidding process included a reverse auction held by REWA Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL).

SGEL will be responsible for the development of the project on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis.

The PPA (power purchase agreement) is to be signed after the firm is issued the Letter of Intent from RUMSL and MP Power Management Company Limited. The cost of the development of the project is pegged at INR 610 Cr.

Once the project sets into operation, it will generate 203 million units (MUs) in the first year. Over a span of 25 years, it will generate close to 4,781 MUs.

The project will be commissioned within 21 months of the signing of the PPA.

Earlier, SJVN Green Energy Limited issued a tender for the supply of a Balance of System (BOS) package. It also entails O&M services for a 200 MW solar project at Khavda Solar Park, Gujarat.
