Servotech Power Systems Ltd., a manufacturer of EV chargers in the country, has bagged 2649 AC EV chargers order from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). The firm will be responsible for manufacturing, supplying and installing 2649 AC EV chargers order strategically across the nation.

The EV chargers order comes under the BPCL E-drive project, equipping petrol pumps in major Indian cities with EV charging solutions. The range of EV chargers includes 3 kW and 7 kW for the project. The manufacturing and production of these AC chargers has already begun and the supply of the chargers will begin from December 15, 2023. It is slated for completion within three months.

Previously, Servotech had also supplied and installed 800 units of 30 KW DC fast EV Chargers at different locations across the country for BPCL’s E-drive project. Servotech Power Systems will oversee the installation, commissioning, and upkeep of AC EV chargers. The initiative aims to establish e-mobility touchpoints that streamline transactions, enhance availability, facilitate discovery, and simplify navigation for EV users, ensuring convenient access to the EV charging network.

Servotech has been on an order-winning spree, the most recent significant ones coming in from EMCOR and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier during the year, the firm also expanded its overseas presence through the Middle East and Africa markets.

Most petrol pumps across the country, such as BPCL, IOCL, HPCL are encouraging the idea of e-mobility and have set up EV charging facilities. As of June 2023, more than 8800 retailer pumps boasted electric vehicle charging stations. This is a remarkable rise when compared to the figure that stood at 3432 chargers in the same period during last year. So far, IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) has the highest number of EV charging stations.

The firm, a manufacturer of solar products and electric vehicle (EV) chargers, as well as power-backup and smart power solutions, recently disclosed its financial performance for the quarter ending September 30, 2023 during the Board of Directors meeting on October 30, 2023. It reported a revenue growth of 115.2% in Q2 FY24.
