SECI has issued a notification, extending the bid submission deadline for three of its SCCL solar project tenders for a second time during the lockdown.

SECI Bid Deadline SCCL

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a notification, extending the bid submission deadline for three solar PV project tenders to be built at SCCL Telangana for a second time during the lockdown.

The three tenders for which the deadlines have been extended include the 34 MW (AC) ground-based plant for different packages at SCCL, 32 MW (AC) OB Dump based plant for different packages at SCCL, and the tender for 15 MW (AC) floating solar plant for different packages also at SCCL in Telangana.

The tender for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of 34 MW (AC) ground-based solar PV power plant for different packages at SCCL has been extended from May 13, 2020, to June 12, 2020. The bids will now be opened on the new deadline.

The deadline for the tender for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of 32 MW (AC) OB Dump based solar PV power plant for different packages at SCCL has been extended from May 15, 2020, to June 15, 2020. The bids will now be opened on the new deadline.

Finally, for the tender for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning and O&M of a 15 MW (AC) floating solar PV power plant for different packages at SCCL have been extended from May 18, 2020, to June 17, 2020. The bids will now be opened on the new deadline.

The reason behind the extension of the three tender deadlines is believed to be due to the economic slowdown caused due to the global COVID-19 outbreak and the consequent nationwide lockdown which has been in place since March 25, 2020.

In April, the nodal agency had announced the extension in the project bid deadlines for all the projects simultaneously. After which, in another notification the agency had issued another notification asking all the prospective bidders for its tender for the selection of bidders for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning and O&M of 15 MW floating solar PV power plant for different sites at SCCL in Telangana, to submit their pre-bid queries online.
