Romania's PV plant project named Ratesti PV plant

China-headquartered PV inverter and energy storage system solution supplier Sungrow Energy has announced its’ contract with Romania’s PV plant project named Ratesti PV plant. Under this contract, Sungrow will supply PV inverter to this Ratesti PV plant’s EPC service provider INTEC Energy Solutions. The total capacity of this solar project is 154 MW. According to Romania & Sungrow Energy, this is the biggest project of its sort in this country, assisting Southeast Europe’s energy transition and fostering national energy independence.

The plant will be installed in Arges County in southern Romania. As per the project’s EPC provider (INTEC Energy Solutions), this solar plant will produce 124 GWh of electricity annually.

This significant project in Romania utilised Sungrow’s 6.25 MWA turnkey central inverter solution. Sungrow claims that these PV inverters have the unrivaled 99% efficiency which is perfect for utility-scale applications. Shipping and O&M are made easier by the tight integration of a medium voltage transformer, switchgear, and complete automation into the solution in a 40-ft container.

According to the national energy and climate strategy, Romania expects to install about 7 GW of new renewables capacity, of which about 3.7 GW is estimated to be solar project, to attain its 2030 renewables target of 30.7 percent.
