Rajasthan: NTPC’s 245 MW Nokh Solar Plant Now Fully Operational By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Mon, Jun 23rd, 2025 Highlights : Total standalone and group installed capacity has now become 60,978 MW & 82,080 MW, respectively NTPC State-run power utility NTPC has commissioned the final 52 MW unit of the 245 MW solar capacity at Plot-3 of its Nokh Solar PV Project (3×245 MW) in Rajasthan, according to a recent regulatory filing. The company added, “The first part of the capacity of 193 MW has already been declared for commercial operation on June 09, 2025. With the commissioning of the latest project, the total standalone and group commercial capacity of the NTPC solar project has now increased to 60,318 MW and 81,420 MW, respectively. Whereas, the total standalone and group installed capacity has now become 60,978 MW & 82,080 MW, respectively.” Nokh Solar Project: NTPC’s 193 MW Project Goes Live Earlier this year in March, NTPC commissioned 193 MW of the 245 MW solar capacity at Plot-3 of its Nokh Solar Project (3×245 MW) in Rajasthan. The company furnished details of the commissioning of its latest regulatory filing before the exchanges. With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC now stands at 59,606 MW on a standalone basis and 80,708 MW on a group basis, it added. NTPC has been ramping up solar capacity in Rajasthan in recent months. It recently operationalized the third and final 100 MW unit of the 320 MW Bhainsara Solar PV Project, developed in collaboration with the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited, in Jaisalmer. The first and second phases of the project—160 MW and 60 MW, respectively—were declared commercially operational on August 28, 2024, and January 7, 2025. NTPC Fast Tracks Commissioning of Solar Project NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a NTPC Green Energy subsidiary, has previously completed full commissioning of the project in Limbdi, Gujarat. The project was completed with the commercial operation of the final 60 MW capacity of its 150 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project. This follows the earlier commissioning of the first 60 MW on July 29, 2024, and the second 30 MW on December 11, 2024. With this milestone, the entire 150 MW capacity of the Gujarat Solar PV Project is now operational. This solar venture was awarded under the GUVNL 500 MW Solar (Phase XII) tender.
