Previous Tender: A Brief Comparison

The RRUVNL's latest 4-hour, 1-cycle BESS tender has nearly matched the tariff discovered for the 2-hour, 2-cycle L1 bid without Viability Gap Funding (VGF) under Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).

That tariff began at ₹4.44/unit with the Bihar BESS tender and later dropped to ₹3.59/unit in the SJVN–Uttar Pradesh tender. Now, the tariff for the current BESS tender has fallen further to ₹2.85/unit — a significant decrease compared to the previous solar-plus-storage tender with a 4-hour cycle, which was awarded at ₹2.87/unit.

Some of the previous tenders awarded by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL) include its first 1 GW/2 GWh standalone BESS tender under the second Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme, which was awarded at a record-low tariff of ₹1.775 lakh/MW/month.

RVUNL awarded this earlier tender to 11 bidders at tariffs ranging from ₹1.775 lakh/MW/month to ₹1.78 lakh/MW/month. According to the tender results, five bidders secured projects at ₹1.775 lakh/MW/month: Stockwell Solar (200 MW/400 MWh), Oswal Cables (100 MW/200 MWh), Micromax Informatics (50 MW/100 MWh), Patanjali Renewables (100 MW/200 MWh), and RCRS Innovations (50 MW/100 MWh).

Meanwhile, four bidders won projects at ₹1.78 lakh/MW/month for 100 MW/200 MWh each: Galaxy Mining & Royalty, Manda Project, and Viviana Power Tech. Mineralia Impex secured a 50 MW/100 MWh project at the same tariff. The remaining bids were awarded at ₹1.785 lakh/MW/month — 100 MW/200 MWh to Onward Solar and 50 MW/100 MWh to ST Electricals.
