Of late, Kerala has been giving a strong push to the development of the EV sector. In order to enable private participation in the EV charging installations (EVCI) market, the Government of Kerala is providing financial assistance in terms of 25% of the charging machine cost. Also, to encourage renewable energy systems, additional financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 per kW for solar installation up to 50kW is being provided. Recently, the ANERT (Agency for Non-conventional Energy and Rural Technology) has inaugurated five fast EV charging stations in the state of Kerala in order to keep pace with the fast-growing EV Market in the State.
