Indian energy group Jakson Group, has signed an agreement with Jinchen Corp, a turnkey supplier of advanced solar module manufacturing equipment and technology in China. The association is a step forward in Jakson Group’s targets to expand its solar PV manufacturing capacities further in India upto 3 GW annually. It will also strengthen its plans to cater international markets.

The overall manufacturing capability of 3 GW will be achieved in a phased-wise manner over the next few years. With this, the upcoming phase expected to be completed with installation of additional 600 MW towards the mid of 2023, in collaboration with Jinchen Corp.

The agreement with Jinchen Corp will augment Jakson Group’s existing 500 MW facility at Greater Noida and will take the total module manufacturing capacity to 1.1 GW. This new fully-automated line will be equipped to produce latest P type, N type and G-12 modules in both mono-facial and bi-facial variants.

Speaking on the partnership, Bharat Gupta, Head – Solar (International Business), Jakson Group said “We are glad to have Jinchen Corp onboard with us, and take it as a significant step in our efforts to help the world transition to clean energy. With this partnership, we envisage to get closer to our near-term goal of achieving solar PV manufacturing capacity of 3 GW by FY 2026. It will help us meet the growing global demand for solar energy as we plan to export solar modules to international markets too. We are confident that our association with Jinchen Corp will be beneficial for both the companies and contribute towards building a sustainable future and achieving the larger goal of carbon neutrality.”

On the occasion, Vikas Singh, General Manager – Indian Operations, Jinchen Corp said, “We have consistently partnered companies operating in the renewable energy space to develop their power generation capacities and accelerate the green energy movement. Jakson Group has a clear vision for developing the global solar power industry. We are proud to be partnering them in their endeavour. Our association with them will provide us an opportunity to showcase our advanced solar module manufacturing technology to the world. Together, we hope to make a difference in creating a more sustainable world.”

Jinchen Corp focuses on technological innovation and industrial development and high-efficiency solar cell PECVD equipment upon TOPCon technology and HJT technology.

A few months ago, Jakson Group had shared that it would set up green hydrogen projects across Asia and Africa.

For Jakson, having its own manufacturing set up for modules will support its own EPC projects too, besides retailing in the broader market. The firm has a strong position in both the solar EPC and O&M segments currently.
