GoodWe Inverters Check In At The Oberoi Luxury Hotels

The Oberoi Hotels Group, which has close to 30 properties in India and the world, is going greener with solar power, and GoodWe inverters is the partner of choice for the luxury hotel group.

With solar plants ranging in size from from 400KWp to 1 MW p, key properties across Agra, Udaipur and Ranthambhore have added solar power for their energy needs, supporting each property in becoming greener and more eco-friendly. Some of these properties, being located in sensitive ecological areas, or in the middle of well created green zones, posed special challenges for the installation team, that were managed with a mix of sensitivity to the environment and innovative approaches.

Be it the aesthetics of each location, or the need to avoid any tampering with the greenery around, or even the tolerance for very high temperatures in summers, the solar plants had to be designed to withstand everything and deliver on the promise by EPC to the projects, Sterling and Wilson Solar.  JA Solar modules were used in these projects.

The plants will help the hotels in reducing their carbon emissions. The move marks a welcome step for large luxury hotel chains, which have a particularly high carbon footprint due to the nature of the business and facilities they offer. “Adopting renewable energy like solar power will help resolve many environmental challenges like reducing global warming and CO2 emission and also helping drive greater socio-economic benefits by creating local employment opportunities,” the group statement said.

For GoodWe, the installation marks another use case for its inverter range, which have been picked by many corporates across the country to manage their solar plants intelligently. In recent times, GoodWe Inverters has also been pushing for its energy storage solutions, which have found traction with corporates again.
