Energy-tech startup Zendure has introduced SolarFlow, which is said to be the first plug-and-play solar energy storage system for balconies.

The energy storage system is made up of a PV hub and boasts of upto four batteries. SolarFlow offers compatibility with the usual balcony solar panels and lets residents in apartment and condos to store solar energy in the day. The energy can be used even during the night hours.

The system has 3,840Wh worth of capacity, which can supply power at night to a four-member family while also powering up their devices.

SolarFlow is available in the form of a complete package along with a solar panel and the micro-inverter from the startup. One of the biggest advantages of the ESS is that it is compatbile with the current balcony solar panels that are available in the market. Thus, the manufacturer is not a matter of concern. Consumers with solar panels on the balcony as well as micro-inverter do not have to worry about connecting the energy storage system to their current equipment with an MC4 connector. The output of the system is 800 W and it comes with a BMS (battery management system), allowing for the storage of excess energy in the related lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.

At the same time, the ESS makes sure that the excess energy is not wasted and can be accessed even during the night. This, in turn, can help consumers make savings of up to 32 percent of yearly energy expenditure.

Launched in 2013, Zendure is one of the fastest growing clean energytech start-ups based in the technology hubs of Silicon Valley, USA and the Greater Bay Area in China and Japan. It is a retailer and manufacturer of consumer electronics, offering a range of eco-friendly products like power stations, cables, power adapters, chargers, hubs, external batteries, wall chargers, and power banks, fit for all kinds of applications for everyday use.

Last year, Zendure introduced SuperBase V for portable home energy systems, at the IFA consumer electronics expo in Berlin. This was said to be the first system in the market to use semi-solid state batteries. SuperBase V has a capacity range of 6.4 kWh to 64 kWh.
