Surat-based Cosmic PV Power Pvt. Ltd has announced the ground breaking ceremony for its 600 MW expansion for manufacturing solar modules. Announcing the new fully automatic robotics manufacturing facility in Surat, the company said that the state-of-the-art  facility will produce multi BB modules . The Facility is spread over more than 3,00,000 Sq. Ft  area near its existing setup in Surat.

With this facility now Cosmic has 2 Manufacturing facilities adding up to a cumulative 850MW of manufacturing capacity at Surat, Gujarat .The new facility is planned to be equipped to produce premium quality and higher efficiency PV modules in Multi BB based on HJT and Topcon technology within the range of 550Wp to 600Wp Mono PERC and Bifacial modules. The production facilities are scheduled to commence operation from June 2023,  said Shravan Gupta, Managing Director, Cosmic PV Power.

Gupta asserted that the new plant delivers on Cosmic’s determination to deliver on its make in India promise for its customers, with products that match or exceed international specifications and serve the local markets well. The firm had started production at its existing facility in July 2021, moving fast to establish itself in the growing Gujarat market and beyond.

He added that all the modules produced from factory are tested as per BIS, ISO and IEC standards. We follow the highest level of quality standards.

“We follow three “T” model. That translates to  Team is Trained, Material will be Tested, and delivery of material will be Timely.

Cosmic PV Power MD Jenish Ghael has already indicated that the firm has a goal to achieve a cumulative production capacity of 1.4GW by the year 2024.

Cosmic is both BIS and ALMM certified for its existing 250 MW line in Surat. With a current module range of 40W to 600Wp, the firm has pushed to fill multiple market needs for mono as well as poly crystalline modules. The expansion is in line with the founder’s view of the market moving towards higher efficiency modules and the opportunity for Cosmic Power to serve it thanks to its strong distribution network and relationships with key stakeholders.
