BVG India Limited Gets 100-MW Solar Project Order From SJVN Nand Lal Sharma, CMD, SJVN

State owned renewable energy developer SJVN has, through its subsidiary SJVN Green Energy, has awarded a contract to BVG India Limited for Balance of System (BOS) Package for a 100 MW Solar Project in the state of Punjab.

Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & MD, SJVN informed that the subsidiary SGEL has entered into an agreement with BVG India. This is SGEL’s first awarded BOS Contract which amounts to Rs 132.64 crores. The contract also includes O&M of the Solar PV Plant for a period of three years.

The Contract Agreement was signed by Manoj Kumar Negi, Dy. GM, SGEL and Pankaj Dhingra, Director, BVG India Limited .

The CMD held that the public firm had bagged the solar project through tariff based Competitive Bidding Process, on BOO basis through an e-Reverse Auction at a tariff of Rs. 2.65 per unit.

As per the official statement of SJVN, the tentative cost of the development of the project is about Rs. 545 crores. Every year, the solar plant will generate about 227 million units of green power in the first year. Over a period of 25 years it would be around 5302 million units.

The sola project, when commissioned, will reduce 2.5 lakh tonnes of CO2. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has already been signed between PSPCL and SJVN for 25 years.

Nand Lal Sharma also stated the Union Minister of Power & NRE, RK Singh is extending great guidance & support to all power sector PSUs to go aggressively in harnessing of solar power potential to achieve goal of 24X7 affordable and green power.

SJVN says that in line with the target set by the Government, SJVN has set its Shared Vision of capacity addition of 5000 MW by 2023-24, 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040.

Recently, Hartek Solar announced that it was awarded a contract by SJVN Green Energy to build a 22 MW floating solar PV power project at Nangal Pond, District Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh.
