To build a 75 MW solar power project at the Parasan Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh, state-owned SJVN signed a contract with Noida-based Solarworld Energy Solutions Pvt Ltd for Rs 313.59 crore.

Earlier, SJVN had made an official announcement announcing that it had signed a contract with Solarworld Energy Solutions Private Ltd, Noida, for the development of a 75 MW (AC) solar power project at Parasan Solar Park, Uttar Pradesh, on an engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) basis with subsequent O&M (operation and maintenance) for three years.

Through a competitive bidding process run by the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), SJVN won this project at a rate of Rs 2.68 per unit for 25 years. 168.34 million units (MU) of energy will be produced annually by the project, with a capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 25.06 percent. The tehsil Kalpi in the Uttar Pradesh district of Jalaun, close to Kanpur, is where the Parasan Solar Park is situated.
