BHEL Tenders for DC Power Cables for 2 NTPC Floating Solar Plants

BHEL has issued a tender for the supply of DC power cables for two floating solar plants that the firm is developing for the NTPC.

Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible vendors for the supply of 3.3 KV 1C x 400 sq.mm DC power cables for two floating solar plants that the firm is developing for the NTPC. The two projects are the 25 MW NTPC Simhadri and the 22 MW Kayamkulam floating solar plant.

The last date for bid submission is January 30, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same date. The date and time of opening of the price bids will be intimated to the technically eligible bidders later. The vendors will have a period of 84 days to supply the necessary quantities to the project sites.

BHEL-EDN is executing the three floating solar projects on behalf of NTPC. The tender for the HT cables is being floated through open tender for below quantities:

To be eligible for participating in the bidding process the vendors must be an OEM of cable type as per the scope of supply against subject tender and should have supplied minimum cumulative of 50 KM of single/multi-core 185 or higher sq.mm Aluminium/ Copper cable during the last three years with reference to RFQ date.

Earlier this month, BHEL had issued another tender for the supply of 33 KV (E) High Tension (HT) cables for 100 MW NTPC Ramagundam, the 25 MW NTPC Simhadri and 22 MW Kayamkulam floating solar PV projects.

In December 2019, BHEL had issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible firms for developing and fabricating a complete floatation platform for the 22 MW floating solar plant at NTPC Kayamkulam in Kerala. In October, the state-owned agency had issued a similar tender for setting up of the floatation platform and related works for the 25 MW grid-connected floating solar PV project at NTPC Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh.
