BHEL Tenders for HT Cables for 147 MW Floating Solar Projects

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has issued a tender, inviting bids for the supply of 33 KV (E) High Tension (HT) cables for 100 MW NTPC Ramagundam, the 25 MW NTPC Simhadri and 22 MW Kayamkulam floating solar PV projects.

The last date for bid submission is January 20, 2019, and the techno-commercials bids will be opened on the same date. The vendors will have a period of 84 days to supply the necessary quantities to the project sites.

BHEL-EDN is executing the three floating solar projects on behalf of NTPC. The tender for the HT cables is being floated through open tender for below quantities:

To be eligible for participating in the bidding process the vendor should be an OEM of cable type as per the scope of supply against subject tender and should have supplied minimum cumulative of 50 KM of single/ multi-core 150 or higher sq. mtr. cable as per IS:7098 part- 2, during the last five years with reference to the date of opening of Part-1 bid.

Furthermore, the vendor should have conducted type test as per IS 7098-Part 2, within 10 years with reference to the date of opening of Part-1 bid.

Recently, BHEL had issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible firms for developing and fabricating a complete floatation platform for the 22 MW floating solar plant at NTPC Kayamkulam in Kerala.

The scope of work for the selected bidders will include developing and fabricating a 3D model floating solar PV plant, construction of the floatation platform and the accessories with Mooring and Anchoring of the platform for the 22 MW solar plant. The developers will have a period of 210 days to complete the work on the project. The last date for bid submission is January 16, 2019.

In October, the state-owned agency had issued a similar tender for setting up of the floatation platform and related works for the 25 MW grid-connected floating solar PV project at NTPC Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh.
