BHEL Tenders for Floatation Platform for NTPC’s 25 MW Floating Solar Plant

BHEL tendered for setting up of the floatation platform and related works for the 25 MW floating solar PV project at NTPC Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL), has floated a tender, seeking bids from eligible parties for setting up of the floatation platform and related works for the 25 MW grid-connected floating solar PV project at NTPC Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh.

The scope of work for the selected bidder will involve the design and supply of the complete platform and accessories along with the mooring and anchoring of the said platform for installation of the solar system on the reservoir in NTPC Simhadri. The developers will have a period of 234 days to complete the work on the project.

The last date for bid submission is October 30, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same date. The date and time of opening of the price bids will be intimated to the technically accepted vendors later.

To be eligible, the vendors need to submit a solvency certificate issued by nationalised/ scheduled banks for the minimum worth of Rs 3 crore, with the date of issue not before 6 months from the tender opening date. And the vendors should have executed purchase orders of the cumulative value Rs 3 crore during the last three years.

In July, we reported that BHEL had won the order for setting up a 25 MW floating solar photovoltaic (SPV) power plant on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis, at Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh from NTPC Ltd.

The plant will be set up for a cost of Rs 100 crore on the raw water reservoir of NTPC Ltd’s Simhadri Thermal Power Plant. Notably, this is the second order of floating SPV plant from NTPC Ltd, the earlier being 100 MW floating SPV plant at Ramagundam in Telangana.

In September, the firm had tendered for the deployment of the floatation platform for the company’s 100 MW floating solar power plant at NTPC Ramgundam in Telangana. In July, the company issued a tender for conducting geotechnical investigations and bathymetric survey works of the water body for the company’s proposed project site for the floating plant.
