BENY Emerges From the Shadows To Power 7 GW Solar Project with 1500V DC T& D Solution

BENY Emerges From the Shadows To Power 7 GW Solar Project with 1500V DC T& D Solution BENY's 1500V DC Transmission & Distribution Soln Powers World's Largest Solar Power Station

China-based BENY, which has been making big strides in the energy transition space with its power electronics has added a major feather in its cap with the stable performance of the world’s largest 7 GW solar PV power station in Qinghai Province’s upper reaches of the Yellow River. A prestigious project where China National Energy Investment Group invested, it was successfully connected to the state grid recently.  BENY provided advanced transmission and distribution solutions for this colossal solar power station cluster, overcoming extreme temperatures and conditions to deliver.

Braving Challenging Conditions

The power station endures the complexities of high altitudes exceeding 4,000m, extreme temperature fluctuations, and other challenging environmental conditions. BENY’s solution plays a critical role in the system for the stable operation and hassle-free maintenance of the power station, says the firm.

Boasting premium materials and cutting-edge technology, BENY’s DC power transmission and distribution solution is equipped with multiple protection measures, countering low air pressure and intense radiation in high-altitude regions, while maintaining stability amid temperature and humidity fluctuations. Additionally, this intelligent solution features current detection capability, conveniently facilitating line testing in post-installation.

The collaboration between BENY and the developer, Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd sets a blueprint for coexistence through the integration of photovoltaic power stations with ecological governance that is expected to be replicated in many other projects in the region.

By successful integration of agriculture and photovoltaic technology in renovating Qinghai photovoltaic power stations, the project will serve as a guide to many similar projects planned in China and other parts of the world, where the same challenge of using land resources judiciously is emerging with the growth of utility scale solar in particular.

Last month, Beny New Energy, unveiled its brand, EV BENY at Intersolar Europe Exhibition in Munich. The firm also announced the achievement of TÜV Rheinland certification for their flagship product, the BYM series Microinverter.
