Amara Raja Wins 100 MW Solar Project in Bangladesh Valued at $130 Mn Amara Raja Batteries Limited Is Now Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited

An arm of Amara Raja Group, Amara Raja Infra Private Limited (ARIPL), has won a 100 MW solar power project in Bangladesh. The value of the project is pegged at $130 million. As per the contract, the firm will look into the Engineering, Design, Supply, Installation, and Commissioning of the project, which is to be funded by the EXIM Bank of India. Following the commissioning of the project, RIPL will also offer comprehensive operation and maintenance services for a period of two years. This will also include warranty spares and consumables.

With this contract, ARIPL makes some serious headway into the international solar market.

ARIPL, in partnership with Premier Solar of Hyderabad, bagged the project from Bangladesh-based Rural Power Company Ltd (RPCL). The timeline for the completion of the project is 18 months. It will be built on326 acres at Madarganj in Jamalpur District of Bangladesh.

It may be recalled that in 2022, the firm had won India’s first green hydrogen fueling station project. It was being commissioned in Leh by NTPC. It had also bagged the first 400 KV GIS project from GSECL.

With the addition of 100 MW (AC) in Bangladesh, the solar portfolio of the firm has 1 GW in pipeline.

In May, Amara Raja Batteries Ltd said it was building the first gigafactory of Telangana, which will also be India’s largest once operational.
