AAI Tenders for 1 MW Solar Plant at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad

AAI has issued a tender for the commissioning of a 1 MW grid-connected solar energy plant at the Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad.

Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible firms for commissioning of a 1 MW grid-connected solar energy plant at the Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad.

The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning (SITC) of the solar energy plant. The plant developers will also be required to sign a comprehensive operation and maintenance contract. The developers will have a period of 2 months from the issuance of the letter of award to complete the work on installation and commissioning of the project.

The last date for bid submission is January 24, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on January 30, 2019. The price bids will be opened on February 5, 2019. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 9.10 lakh and all bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 18 thousand (18,206) along with their bids.

To be eligible for participating in the bidding process, the bidders should have satisfactorily completed (Phase/Part completion of the scope of work in a contract shall not be considered. However pre-determined phasing of the work will be accepted) three works, each of Rs.4,29,650 or two works, each of Rs 5,37,062 or one work of Rs 8,59,300 in a single contract of similar nature i.e. Internal Electrification works within India during last seven years ending on the last date of submission of bids.

Furthermore, the bidders should have an annualised average financial turnover of Rs 3.22 lakh against works executed during the last three years ending March 31, of the previous financial year.

In September 2019, AAI had floated the same tender for the development of a 1 MW grid-connected solar PV power plant at the Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad. However, in that tender, the estimated cost of the project was Rs 40.94 lakh and all bidders were asked to submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 82 thousand along with their bids.
